After graduation I tried trade school in St. Paul but found it not to be to my liking. The following spring I went to work for a utility line contractor in the upper midwest. In the fall of 1962 I joined the local telephone company. Other than the two years with the Army I worked until 1992 when I took early retirement.

I married Virginia Lifgren in 1967. We have two daughters and five grandchildren.

I also spent 18 years with the Almelund Volunteer Fire Department.

In 1996 I became a carpenter and built the house we currently live in.

Three years ago I joined the Chisago Lakes VFW. We do funeral ceremonies, parades and community service. I am currently the Adjutant and Vice Commander.

My hobbies are hunting, gardening, reading and building things in my shop.

We have had buffalo for the last thirty years. During that time we have enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada with the National and State Buffalo Organizations.
