After graduation I worked in Minneapolis until my birthday in October. At that time I entered the WAC's. I had basic training iat Fort MacCellan, Alabama. From there to Medical training at Fort Sam Huston, Texas. After that I was stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. From there I went to the 130th at Heildelberg, Germany. I met Elmer there and we were married on June 8, 1961. Marie was born in August of 1962. The Berlin Wall went up when we were in Germany.

We cane back to the States and spent time in Tipp City, Ohio, while Elmer went to school. We then moved to Richlands, Virginia, where Edward was born in August, 1964. In March of 1965 we moved here in Marshfield, WI. Ellen was born in May of 1966, and Dean on our anniversary in 1968.

I worked for 8 years on nights at the Nursing Home and then got a job at St. Joseph's Hospital. I worked at St. Joseph's for 26 years on the night shift, in the Rehab Unit mostly.

I have been retired since February of 2002. I enjoy gardening, sewing of all kinds, reading and playing with our cats.

We have one grandchild, Shanna, born in May of 1985 to Marie and Todd. All our children live and work here in Marchfield.
