One daughter and two sons
Three sons

I married Roger Carlson the summer of my graduation from high school.  We had two daughters, Diane and Becky.

One of my short term jobs while they were young was secretary to four Head Start teachers.  I observed how they enjoyed working with the young children and wanted to become a teacher also.   Their encouragement, along with Connie Gustafson's, led me to attend the University of Minnesota College of Education.   In 1971 I started my 30 year teaching career with the Forest Lake School system.   I taught sixth grade at Scandia Elementary which had a wonderful staff and great parents and students.

In 2001 I retired, starting some new hobbies: painting and playing the keyboard.   Roger and I have had five interesting trips to Sweden to find and visit relatives.   We took side trips to Norway and down to Switzerland.   I went on painting tours to Greece and France.  The trip Roger and I found most fascinating was to Cuzco, Peru, to see the Inca culture, especially at Machu Picchu .

We are grandparents of five grandsons and one granddaughter.   We have two
great grandsons.    I have had many blessings so far in my life and thank God for them.
